Review by LizardwithaZ

LizardwithaZ First time seeing TAB and I’m not very familiar with the TAB material, but I could not believe how much fun Trey was having. Went in not knowing exactly what to expect and it delivered a fantastic night.
Highlights:
Starting off with Set Your Soul Free, this sucker really needs those extra voices to make it great during the song proper. Seriously, when phish plays it, it usually ends up rocking with the jam, but I understand why people don’t dig the song before the jam. I personally like it, so hearing it like this was a treat for me!
Next couple songs I wasn’t familiar with, but I enjoyed seeing trey go around stage and interact with the audience! He was shredding for sure all night!
Magilla absolutely rules with the full band. It gets a ton out of the TAB treatment, and I loved it!
Everything’s right was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary, and I think I prefer it in the phish catalog where they can let it go out and breathe. But I enjoyed this version.
Then a few songs I wasn’t familiar with but was able to just groove to.
AND THEN
the highlight of the first set for me was that funky ass camel walk! Probably the only way I’ll ever get a camel walk, but it absolutely ruled! Great way to close out the set.

Set 2 began with Last Tube(I think), and then gotta Jibboo. This is one that absolutely should stay in TAB. Jibboo rules when it’s got the horns and full backing in a way I didn’t know it could.
The way I feel was another chance for trey and Co to just play and enjoy each other and have fun with the audience. Good stuff there.
Next big highlight for me was About to Run. This sucker gave me chills when I realized it was coming out. Absolute shredding from trey, and I’m pretty sure this is coming out early on tour and will get the treatment. It’s primed for a 15-20 minute version, and I think people will absolutely embrace it when they hear it live.
I sat down for A Life Beyond A Dream, but not because I was disappointed or anything. I closed my eyes and listened. Beautiful song.
Blaze On ended the set. Had kind of a weird start where it sounded almost out of tune before it got going. It was fine. Nothing special, but also not surprising for it to close out the set.
A little note here about encore breaks: I’ve been vocal on here about being annoyed with people for not cheering while waiting on the encore. While we were waiting, people were LOUD about it last night! Clapping and hollering during what had to be about 3 or 4 minutes until they came back out.
Encore started with Brief Time sung a cappella with trey and his backup singers. Absolutely stunning. It had me thinking about the people in my life who are no longer here, and I got quite emotional and teary eyed.
The next two songs were ones I didn’t recognize, but quite enjoyable. After the 2nd encore song, trey took a minute To introduce the band, which was nice. I think Jennifer Hartwick got the biggest applause, and she seemed quite touched.
Anyway, fun last song for encore. I think it was Push on till the day.
Overall, really fantastic show!
