Ripping Llama to open up first set, then right into a solid, tight Guelah. Rift was much better in the solo timing, but not quite there yet. Stash was also very solid tonight. Reba had some tiny off spots in the middle, but a great ending jam. My Friend also had rough spots, though it really rocked by the end. Pen was good and tight. Sample also rocked even though it's still pretty new. IDK brings Fish out on trombone for Nancy. Bowie was pretty weak again in my opinion, they may need to retool this lackluster closer.
It seems like it's been a while since I've heard Buried Alive and this one was pretty good. Same with Halley's. Last time I don't remember it being that good, but this one was reasonably tight. Ice was good, but average, so was Bouncing, and Chalk Dust. Then we have kind of a mini bust out with TMWSIY and Avenu. The whole trio of songs was nicely played tonight. The back end of this set continues to give with another trio of songs. Mike's rocked, and again you can hear the seeds of Simple being planted. Hydrogen was actually really good; it's been a while since I've said that. Weekapaug started off very awkwardly with no Mike, and sounded like there was in-fighting going on during the jam. It rocked anyway... HYHU brings Fish back out to do a well practiced, better than expected, Rosie. Poor Heart was solid and Golgi was a rocking closer to this pretty good second set.
Coil gets the call tonight and this one is ok, a few spots from Trey early on, but of course Page brings it at the end. Very funny stage banter during the shushing, prompting the boys to tease Suzy and eventually do a whole Carolina.
I really thought about giving this one five stars just to bring the average up, but I'm sticking with four.
