Welcome to the 458th edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, the final and most difficult puzzle of March. The winner will receive an MP3 download code courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the songs and dates of all three mystery clips. Each person gets one guess to start – if no one answers correctly in the first 24 hours, I'll post a hint. After the hint, everyone gets one more guess before Wednesday at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. Stay safe!

Answer: Congrats to @sumac22 on going back-to-back for the second time in the last eight MJMs! This time he cracked one of the hardest puzzles in recent memory, following the pyramid (and some helpful comments) to the 9/29/99 show, which features a first set where all but one song is in the key of D, just like the songs from this week's clips: 11/30/97 "Free > Jam," 8/2/17 "Taste," and 7/2/95 "Runaway Jim." Next week the difficulty will reset to EASY, as MJM kicks off another month on the path to MJM500.

Or maybe folks have figured out the theme and the clips are just too hard?
8/2/17 Taste
7/2/95 Runaway Jim
I'd have never gotten that only going through the yellow-highlighted jam chart options, but there's only so much time in the day and that Memphis show is packed full of good candidates! I felt like it was a 94-96 Jim based on that clip and the tempo.
I knew the Taste yesterday and thought for sure that the first clip was from IT - Tower Jam. I listened to the whole thing only to realize the part I was thinking of wasn't the same as the clip. Then I noticed that the Taste and Tower Jam were both August 2nd dates - as was much more material from IT - so I took a deep dive into all the other ambient/spacey jams from that day at the festival (which was a ton). Sigh - only to come up empty.
I really thought I had a shot when the clue came out, but alas. At least you solved this in time for me to focus on Jeopardy.
Nm I see it now... great detective work!
For anyone still confused
how can you try for a challenging mmj WITHOUT reading setlist notes? I also usually check the keys of jams anyway (I’m sure like many others), and the clue actually led me astray from that.. I didn’t dwell on 9/29/99 since it’s one of my favorite shows and I “knew” nothing was related
this was just a hard one, not for lack of anyone’s deductive abilities.. great choices!
for the record I was looking (like many others) at Cities jams, Cities-adjacent jams, Streets of Cairo teases, shows in Memphis, Bangles teases lol..
Listened to this one time. Instantly thought "Yeah...I'm out this week."
